Theism: The belief that God created the world; along with the idea that God is omniscient omnipotent and omnipresent.

Naturalism: Teaches: God is irrelevant, evolutionary change is inevitable man is autonomous self centuries will himself, education is the guide to life science is the ultimate provider for knowledge.

Nihilism: Pilospjiscal nostion which argues that the world is without objective meaning, purpose, comprehensible truth, or essential value.

Pragmatism: It signifies the insistence on usefulness or practical consequences as atess of truth.

Deism: Belief in the existence of a supreme being, specifically of a creator who does not intervene in the universe.

Queen Mary; Bloody Mary

Queen Mary was queen of England and Ireland from 18 February 1516 – 17 November 1558.

Originally, her older brother, King Edward, didn’t want her to become queen because she was a Catholic and he had worked hard to make England a Protestant country. So he made a will stating that his cousin, Lady Jane Grey, should become queen and that Mary and Elizabeth, his other sister, would not be allowed too. But Mary was able to get enough people on her side to convince the authorities that she should be queen instead of Jane. So Jane and her husband were put in a tower and then killed a few days later. Queen Mary was very Catholic and so she hated all the Protestants in England. She gained the nickname Bloody Mary, because of the persecution of the Protestants that happened during her reign. Most of the persecution was done by her, she herself killed over two hundred eighty protestants, by burning them to a stake.

Lucky for the Protestants she only reigned for five years, and everyone that had fled were able to come back and again make their home in England.

My Pet Gracie

Gracie is my pet puppy. She is a German Short Hair Pointer. She has light blue eyes, a chocolate face and a big spot on her back. She is white with little grey and brown specks everywhere!

One of her favorite things to do right now is not listen, and she is very good at it. The only way you can tell that she is listening is because her ears will perk up and she will even sometimes look at you, but she hardly ever comes, and usually just walks away and continues doing whatever it was that she was doing when you ‘rudely interrupted’ her. Gracie is a ‘hopper’. When she runs she hops around in between each stride. It is really funny to watch her run because she half runs half hops! She loves to cuddle with you and will fall asleep after sitting on your lap for less than five minutes. She is a really playful energetic dog when she is not tired though. She keeps you on your toes! She is still a puppy and so she is not trained yet, but I am working on it. All in all she is a great dog, even if she pees inside, and chews on stuff, and doesn’t listen, and isn’t trained!

Sir Walter Raleigh and Roanoke

Sir Walter Raleigh was an important politician and explorer during the Elizabethan era.

Raleigh grew up Protestant during Queen Mary’s reign. Because his family was Protestants they had to hide so survive from the queen’s soldiers. Because of the fact he was always hiding he grew a deep hatred towards Catholicism.

In 1587 Raleigh decided to colonize the Island Roanoke, organized under John White. John White eventually had to return to England to get supplies. His return was postponed because of some dire needs he had to look into. Soon it had been three years before he was finally able to go back to Roanoke Island. When he did return, however, he found the place empty. The colonists were nowhere to be found. People still don’t know where they went. The city Raleigh tried to colonize is now known as “The Lost Colony of Roanoke Island”.

Raleigh was favored by the Queen of England, Elizabeth. Why? Because when he traveled to Ireland he started preaching about Protestantism to the people around him. This made the queen very happy, which made him get  bumped to ‘favorite’ on her list.

Raleigh was executed on October 29 1618 because of a wronged treasonous act of his crew while on a sea voyage: During King James’ reign over England.

Oackrest Camp This Week

On Monday June seventeenth two-thousand nineteen, I went to Oakcrest camp for girls! Me and my best friend, Kymee, packed up and left early Monday morning. We hopped on a huge bus (that had really soft comfy seats and big windows and arm rests) and were off for a new adventure! I got to camp at around twelve thirty, said “Good Bye!” to my mom, and then set off to meet my counselor, and to put my things into the cabin I was assigned to. Me, Kymee, Anna (Big A), Anna (little a), Emery, Brook, Sophie, Sierra, Ashley, and Brynlee were all in the same cabin, and we all became fast friends!

June 18 2019

I was slowly awakened by the music they played on the speakers throughout camp. A symbol telling us to get up and that we only had fifteen to twenty minutes to get ready for the day and our activities.

Every morning we woke up at seven and had twenty minutes max to get ready for the day.

June 19 2019

I was falling and hit the ground with a thud… We went on a huge hike that day, it was fun other than the part where my eyes wouldn’t stop irritating me and the fact that I fell really hard on my hip. I also did the foam slide, it was really exciting and fun! (Even if I didn’t do it because my eyes were really irritated and the foam was completely soap)

June 20 2019

Today was the day we did all the religious spiritual things for camp. The trading post was also opened for us today and so I was able to get a few things from there.

June 21 2019

Today is the last day of Oakcrest camp…I only did half a day today, driving home on the bus around lunchtime. It was fun to finally be coming home, but it was sad to leave all of my friends too. I will never forget anything that happened at Oakcrest, it is forever in my memory.

A list of all the things I bought at Oakcrest

A bandana

A hoodie

A head band

Two pins

A pair of socks

And four water flavor packets
